Grammy nominated singer, songwriter and producer Maimouna Youssef will headline this innovative literary arts fusion program that aims to elevate the lyrical genius of hip-hop by presenting their literary work alongside classical poets. The event features a networking happy hour in partnership with the Black Philanthropic Alliance (BPA) that includes drink specials, appetizers catered by Shawafel Restaurant, and music by DJ Smooth. Creator Sage Salvo will also present an intriguing ‘Liive Talk’ mini-lecture on the literary device ‘onomatopoeia’ and how it is used in classical poetry and hip-hop. Wisdom Speeks Band is providing live music during the show and jam session.
