The Atlas Performing Arts Center Arts Education Collaborative Program provides opportunities for youth to receive instruction in the performing arts, develop interpersonal skills and build confidence. Atlas Arts Partners have a deep involvement in the local schools and offer arts education programs on-site at the Atlas. DC Mayor’s Art Award-Winning Joy of Motion Dance Center (JOMDC) as well as the American Youth Chorus and City at Peace DC have been teaching youth in dance, choral and conflict resolution through the arts. Through collaborative on-site planning and programming, the Atlas and its Arts Partners are able to provide a menu of arts activities to engage and enrich the education of youth. This is an opportunity for both the instructors and students from each of the participating programs to work together throughout the year. The Atlas brings these groups together with the intention to inspire new collaborations among the Arts Partners and build meaningful relationships among the students, including high school students mentoring younger participants. With support and guidance by the Atlas Arts Education Collaborative, these partnerships seek the betterment of current life and future opportunities for the community’s youth who strive to grow and learn through the performing arts.

Adventure Theatre’s Summer Music Theatre Camp at the ATLAS

Be a part of Adventure Theatre’s musical theatre world at the Atlas Performing Arts Center in a camp complete with choreography, acting and singing!  Each two-week workshop concludes with two full-scale productions with costumes and props on stage at the Atlas!

Children, ages 6-12, will participate in classes, workshops, and rehearsals culminating in the productions of Disney’s Mulan Jr. and Tom Sawyer. Camp is weekdays from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  Aftercare will be provided from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at an additional cost.

Session 1:  July 2 – July 13 (No camp July 4)
Session 2:  July 16 – July 27

50% non-refundable deposit due at registration, balance due June 25 for Session 1 and July 9 for Session 2
