The Youth Arts Exchange is a chance for area youth to perform and learn from other young artists. Join us as the artists perform for each other with facilitation by Atlas’ own City at Peace. This event is free to the public.

Atlas City at Peace City at Peace is a youth development program rooted in social justice for teens and young adults ages 14-24, which provides a safe, collaborative and nurturing space outside of school and other environments where they can examine issues and conditions that divide them. City at Peace uses performing arts as a learning tool to develop skills in dance, theatre, voice and stage production, as well as skills in conflict resolution, personal storytelling, empathy, understanding, and leadership.
Blues Alley Youth Orchestra
The Blues Alley Youth Orchestra is comprised of accomplished student musicians ranging in age from 13 to 18 years old, and their mission is to preserve and promote the big band jazz art form. The Orchestra rehearses and performs under the musical direction of renowned bassist, Michael Bowie. Now in its 3rd decade, the Orchestra has performed at many of the classic venues in the Washington metropolitan area such as The John F. Kennedy Center, The Smithsonian Institution, Voice of America, Carter Barron Amphitheater, Wolf Trap Farm Park, and Blues Alley.
Capitol Movement Capitol Movement’s mission is to build better lives through dance. We provide programs and opportunities for all dancers, regardless of socioeconomic barriers, through studio classes, workshops, outreach, scholarships, and a variety of community engagements.
Writopia Lab Writopia Lab’s mission is to foster joy, literacy, and critical thinking in children and teens from all backgrounds through creative writing. This mission is rooted in our belief that celebrating and sharing stories contributes to the building of stronger, more empathetic young people and societies. Writopia workshops are student-centered and author-led. Through our innovative workshop method, we empower students as peer leaders as they gain skills in writing, editing, analysis, and effective communication. The workshops allow a community of young writers to find each other, connect via their literary passions, and have lots of fun. We offer after-school, weekend, holiday, and summer workshops for writers ages 7-18 at our locations in Tenleytown, Falls Church, and Rockville.
