Atlas Presents Arts for Young Audiences Capital City Symphony: All That Brass!
Meet five members of the brass section of the symphony orchestra through this engaging, educational and intimate program for young people. Learn about the music they play and hear the beautiful sounds come to life. Then, join us for an instrument petting zoo to meet the musicians and see their instruments up close!
Best for ages: 3-8
All patrons age 1 and above must purchase a ticket to the performance.
CAPITAL CITY SYMPHONY
Capital City Symphony (CCS) is a community orchestra based in Washington, D.C. We are one of the founding arts partners of the Atlas Performing Arts Center, located in Northeast DC’s Atlas District.
We were founded in 1967 as the Georgetown Symphony Orchestra. In 2005 we relocated to H Street NE and took the name Capital City Symphony in order to better reflect our new location and city-wide focus. This move has given us the opportunity to make classical music performances accessible in an area of the city that has been traditionally underserved, both economically and culturally. The 2006-07 concert season marked our first season fully in residence as an Arts Partner at the new Atlas Performing Arts Center, which is the cornerstone of the H Street NE corridor revitalization project.
