“Park Road is a coming-of-age story about a young woman’s struggle to cope with the loss of her family home when her grandfather is forced to sell it after falling ill with Cancer.  The protagonist experiences not only what she perceives as a loss of generational wealth, but also the loss of her family structure as she knows it.  Some of the themes explored include the impact of untreated mental illness, the consequences of poor estate planning, racism, colorism, and gentrification.   While these themes are an essential part of the conversation, the crux of the story is rooted in love and loss; loss of a life once known and the clipping of one’s future.
