The VIVA School’s latest main stage production, is a bold reclamation-an unapologetic assertion of our right to occupy, to shape, and to belong. This electrifying curation of works is an exploration of presence, urging us to embrace the undeniable truth that we not only exist within space, but profoundly transform it through authenticity and curiosity. This evening of dance is an act of trust-a collective surrender to the gravity of our being. It awakens the fundamental human need to matter, to be seen, to take up space with confidence. Through movement, we dismantle static narratives that obscure our fullness, carving out pathways toward freedom, authenticity, expansion, and unlimited expression.
IN/SPACES is not just a performance; it is presence in motion. It is a declaration. It is an arrival.
ABOUT THE VIVA SCHOOL
The VIVA School of Dance is a haven for naturally gifted students to fearlessly nurture their talents in community with others who see their limitless potential.
Located in Washington, DC, the school centers young dancers of color, ages 6-18, in a progressive model of dance education that merges world-class training and leadership development to cultivate the creative leaders of tomorrow. Supported by a community of artists, educators and advocates, young artists develop as brilliant movers and distinct thinkers gaining acceptance into the nation’s top collegiate dance programs and conservatories. The VIVA School stands apart as a full-merit scholarship program, annually raising $1.3million to fuel its barrier-breaking initiatives.
Late Seating Policy: Late seating is only permitted between pieces. Seating in the theater will be at the discretion of the house manager.
